A professional tour was held for Caucasus International University students and alumni of the Faculty of Medicine in Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research on October 23, 2018. The event was organized by CIU Career Development Service.
They were met by Gela Mgeladze, Head of Biosafity Unit at the Center and Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health in the field of science and head of Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research.
The representatives of the Center showed to students Serology, Virusology, Mechanical Room and Molecular Laboratory infrastructure, discussed the advantages of vaccination and measures taken for the prevention of environmental pollution.
We would like to remind you that Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research is a brand new building of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health which was launched in August, 2013.
Lugar Center represents the laboratory network of the highest standards in the country and is a referral laboratory of Georgian public health care.
The above mentioned meeting was held within the framework of the memorandum of mutual collaboration signed between the parties. It is noteworthy that it is planned to deepen the partnership between the university and the center in the near future. Thus, Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research will offer material-technical base and intellectual resources to Caucasus International University students while working on practical components, internship issues and research projects.
